Information you provide

When you create an account we collect details such as your name, username, and email, and optionally a phone number, city, and profile photo.

As you use the marketplace you also provide listing content (titles, descriptions, photos, and what you want in exchange), messages to other users, swap proposals, ratings, and any reports you file.

Information collected automatically

To keep the service running and secure, we process technical data such as your IP address, device and browser information, and basic usage activity — for example, which listings are viewed.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

Operate core features — accounts, listings, search, messaging, proposals, and ratings.
Keep the community safe — detect abuse, review reports, and enforce our rules.
Provide support and respond to your requests.
Improve the product and understand how it's used.
Send service emails such as verification and password resets.

What other people can see

Your listings and public profile — name, username, photo, city, completed-swap count, and ratings — are visible to other users. Messages are visible to the people in that conversation.

Please don't put sensitive personal information, such as ID numbers or financial details, into public listings or chats.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that operate the platform on our behalf (such as our hosting and database provider), and where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage for essential things — keeping you signed in, remembering your language, and remembering your light or dark theme. We don't use them for third-party advertising.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Your rights and choices

You can view and update most of your information from your profile and settings. You can also ask us to export or delete your data, or to close your account, by contacting support.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children

JustSwap is not directed to children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country to create an account.
